Erik handed the 19-year-old his 1st start against the Reds in only his 7th match for the team.
Kambwala is liked by his manager, who put him on the pitch at the end of last year against West Ham in London, and the Frenchman also shined in his 1st start in the Premier League.
The Dutch boss revealed that he thought about playing Casemiro at centre-back after Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane were out with injuries.
However, he was impressed by Willy during the Red Devils training sessions and decided to award the teenager with a place in the starting 11.
Ten Hag added that young footballers must get opportunities to play at the biggest matches, and today, Kambwala’s performance against Liverpool proved that he was right to start him in the derby.
