Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has no intention of resigning, even after the 3-0 defeat by Newcastle in the League Cup. So far, the Red Devils have 8 losses in their 15 games this season, five of which were at home.
“I understand that when the results are not there, it is normal that the question of resign is on the agenda. But I am confident that I can lift the team. At all my clubs I have done it, last year as well, but at the moment we are in a bad position. I take responsibility for it and I see it as a challenge. I’m a fighter and I’m in this fight but I have to make sure that I share the responsibility with my players and that we stick together and fight together to achieve better results,” Ten Hag said.
“Yes, we’ve had a lot of setbacks since the start of the season, but we have to swallow that and look forward. Our performance is below the standards that everyone expects from Manchester United. It is not good enough and we must apologize to the fans. As a team we are not good enough and whatever the reasons, there’s no room for excuses,” added the Manchester United manager.
