Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is eager to move past the uncertainties that clouded the club’s recent history and focus on the upcoming season, which he anticipates will be marked by intense competition and “survival of the fittest.” Ten Hag’s position was confirmed after Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City at Wembley in May, which played a crucial role in his new contract.

Speaking at the start of Manchester United’s pre-season tour, where they are accompanied by new chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and technical director Jason Wilcox, Ten Hag emphasized the importance of looking forward. “Winning trophies is what I did all my career,” he said. “I believe in myself. We had to wait very long but by the end we got the reward.”
“Even more than before, this season will be the survival of the fittest,” he noted, highlighting the high workload on players and the impact of injuries, particularly in the back four, which cost the team valuable points last season.
As Manchester United prepares for a pre-season match against Arsenal, Ten Hag is optimistic about the team’s dynamic and spirit. “We are very energized, with a good dynamic and good spirit. We want to work and we want to win,” he concluded.
