The Dutchman reflected on his first season and the team's future prospects

Erik Ten Hag gave positive, but honest opinion on the state, in which Manchester United finds itself at the moment.

The Dutchman described his debut season with the Red Devils as one of overall “progress” with the team ending a 6-year trophy drought by winning the League Cup and returning to the Champions League by finishing 3rd in the Premier League.

However, United’s team boss is not to be carried away by success and urged his players to raise the bar even higher in order to achieve the targets he has set them.

Ten Hag underlined that last season showed United feared no one, but also lacked consistency, which could be seen on couple of occasions – the humiliating 7-0 defeat to Liverpool, the painful 3-0 loss to Sevilla, which led to Europa League exit and of course the FA Cup final loss to bitter rivals Manchester City.

“All levels increased immensely and that was necessary. We were more dominant and created many chances.” he said.

“But still, we are not where we want to be. We have to raise the bar and go to the next levels.”

“Last season proved we can beat any opponent and don’t have to fear anyone. But it also proved we can’t do it on a consistent basis. That is the step we have to make.”
