Erik ten Hag has claimed there is no problem in his relationship with Raphaël Varane and added that the French defender is playing less because Harry Maguire performs very well.
Erik ten Hag on if Raphael Varane is still among the starters: “Yes, absolutely. As I say, Harry Maguire is doing very well in this moment and I’m very happy with that. As I always said with Harry Maguire, he can do the job and now he is showing he is doing the job.” #mufc pic.twitter.com/ZePo2lnr3T

Raphael was 1st choice in the centre of defence in the past campaign but has been left on the bench for 3 of the Man Utd’s last 4 matches, including the 3-0 loss against the Sky Blues at Old Trafford.
The media asked Manchester United’s Dutch head coach if there is a problem with the Frenchman, and Ten Hag shared:
“Absolutely not. As I answered in the past, it is about tactical reasons why I chose these players. I think Harry [Maguire] and Jonny [Evans] are in a form right now.”
The Manchester United boss added that Maguire didn’t play a lot last campaign, and he was satisfied with Rapha’s performances, but now Harry is in better form, and that’s why he is on the pitch.
