Houston Texans’ Nico Collins sustained a concussion during a 27-19 defeat yesterday against the Seattle Seahawks, manager DeMeco Ryans revealed.
“We will evaluate Nico in the upcoming days,” the Texans’ head coach shared.
At the beginning of the 4th quarter, QB C.J. Stroud threw a back-shoulder pass on the sideline to Nico with Seattle CB Josh Jobe in coverage. Collins leaped for the pass but couldn’t catch the ball while falling as he hit his head on the ground.
Before the incident, the wideout had 4 catches for 27 yards on 10 targets.
The Texans quarterback finished the match with a TD and a pick in 229 passing yards as the offense was able to score only a single touchdown. C.J. admitted that one of the reasons for the lack of points is that they lost their top wideout.
Strould shared optimism that Collins will be better quickly and return to the team in the upcoming matches.
Nico Collins
Because he suffered it Monday night, and they play again on Sunday, it’s going to be tough for him to clear the concussion protocol in time.
Here’s how the week will likely go:
Tuesday – Rest – Day 1 of protocol
Wednesday – Increased Activity – Day 2
