The Netherlands defeated the Republic of Ireland in a hard-fought game 2-1 away from home to keep their chances of qualifying for the 2024 Euros alive on Sunday night.
The hosts knew it was all or nothing game for them and they threw everything at their opponent.

It worked, as Stephen Kenny’s men found themselves in front after only 4 minutes through Adam Idah, who barely slotted home an awarded penalty for Virgil van Dijk’s handball.
However, the Dutch were quick to respond and soon levelled the score in the 19th minute with a penalty of their own. Cody Gakpo stepped in and the Liverpool man held his nerve to bring his team back on level terms.
But the Dutch were severely undeperforming and Koeman made a double change at half-time, which resulted in Wout Weghorst giving the away side a vital second goal, which proved decisive.
The now sit 2nd in the group, tied on points with Greece, trailing to France, who have collected all of the 15 points.
