In the 54th minute, Tottenham doubled its lead when captain Heung-Min Son sent a pass to Brennan Johnson, who netted for 2-0.

John McGinn left Aston Villa with 10 men on the pitch in the 65th minute when he received a direct red card for clattering a Spurs player, and that’s the moment when it became clear that Tottenham would return to London with 3 points from Villa Park.

Heung-Min Son made it 3-0 in the extra time after Dejan Kulusevski’s assist. Timo Werner netted for 4-0 in the 94th minute.
