Nine-time Pro Bowl QB will sign for 1 season with Pittsburgh.

The Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson plans to ink with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The quarterback will ink a 1-campaign contract for the veteran’s minimum, which is 1.2 million dollars. The Denver Broncos, who informed him that they will cut him, will pay the rest of Russell’s almost 38 million dollar salary while he plays for the Steelers.

The 9-time Pro Bowl quarterback shared on social media: “Year 13. Grateful.” The video featured Pittsburgh and their supporters.

With permission from Denver, because Wilson is still under deal until the start of the NFL’s new year in 2 days, the QB visited with Steelers officials for almost 7 hours at the end of the past week. Russell discussed his future with manager Mike Tomlin and new OC Arthur Smith. The 2 sides were happy about the talks, and that led to the contract.

The veteran QB (35) was informed by the Broncos that he would be cut on Wednesday, ending a disappointing 2-year run with the franchise in which they didn’t make it to the postseason.
