The Royal Club has revealed that Xabi Alonso is no longer the head coach of the team after the Spanish Super Cup final defeat against Barcelona. Rumors have not gone away about Xabi’s job at Real Madrid in the past few weeks, with speculations that the players are not behind him. The team from Bernabeu shared that the Spaniard has left by “mutual consent”.
Less than 24 hours after Los Blancos suffered a 3-2 defeat to Barca in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Real Madrid decided that they would move on from Xabi Alonso, the ex-Bayer Leverkusen head coach, who only joined the Royal club in the past summer. Los Blancos revealed that it was a “mutual agreement” between the club and the Spaniard and wished Xabi all the best in the future.

In October, things look different when Real won the El Clásico in LaLiga and gained a 5-point lead at the top. But after that, poor results led to the Catalan side overcoming them in the league, as Los Blancos also suffered in the UCL. And now, after the loss in the Spanish Super Cup final, Alonso lost his job.
Alvaro Arbeloa will replace him as it’s still unclear if he will be the interim manager or will have the chance to prove himself at the helm of Los Blancos.
