Barcelona seek a superior kit deal in the past month, with rumors of growing tensions between the club and the manufacturing giants as their existing contract approaches its final 2 years.
Joan revealed in a podcast that the club gave Nike more time to improve their conditions.
“We shared with Nike that, based on breaches that for our team were flagrant, we were terminating the deal,” the Barcelona president said.
“They had a month and a half to compensate us; they failed to do it, and we informed them that the deal was being terminated, to which they answered with precautionary measures, to which Barca also answered and are now seeing the solution to these measures.”
Laporta added that Nike offered more money, but according to him, it was not enough given today’s market.
