Barcelona shows Champions League magic to beat Napoli 3-1

Barcelona missed their chance to win in Italy two weeks ago, but tonight the Catalan side was the better team against Napoli to win 3-1 and qualify for the final eight in the competition.

Barcelona took the 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. Rafinha received a well-placed pass on the left side, then found Fermin Lopez at the penalty spot, who was left unmarked and scored into Meret’s goal.

Barcelona quickly added a second goal in the 17th minute. Lamine Yamal picked up Barcelona’s attack, passed it to Rafinha, who created space in Napoli’s penalty area and took a shot. The ball hit the left post of Alex Meret’s goal. Subsequently, the rebound fell to Joao Felix, who didn’t miss the chance to score into the empty net.

Napoli reduced their deficit in the 30th minute. Matteo Politano passed to Amir Rakhmani, who was unmarked in Barcelona’s penalty area and skillfully placed the ball into the lower right corner of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal.

The question mark in the match was over in the 83rd minute. Ilkay Gundogan played  a double pass with Sergio Roberto, who was left alone against Alex Meret. Instead of taking a shot, he opted to pass to Robert Lewandowski, who didn’t miss the opportunity to score into the empty net.

Napoli had a chance to revive their hopes in the clash in the 89th minute, but after Matias Oliveira’s shot, the ball hit the crossbar.
