After top-4 rivals Tottenham and Aston Villa triumphed earlier, the Red Devils knew that they must win the last match on Saturday from the Premier League, if they wanted to keep pace with them but failed.
The Bees dominated the whole match as Ivan Toney’s shot ended in the left post in the 1st half and the result remain 0-0 after the 1st 45 minutes.
Toney scored in the 73rd minute, but his goal was disallowed for an offside.
The referee gave 9 minutes extra time, and Mason Mount scored his 1st ever goal as a Man United player in the 96th minute after Casemiro’s assist as the Red Devils thought that they secured the 3 points. However, Ivan Toney provided a fantastic assist in the 99th minute to Kristoffer Ajer, and the defender netted to tie 1-1 and secure a point for his team.
Brentford had 85 touches in the Manchester United box tonight – the most by a team in any Premier League match across the last three seasons.
