Boston breezed past Miami 114-94 in TD Garden

The Boston Celtics made a strong statement in their quest for another NBA championship with a convincing 114-94  victory over the Miami Heat in the opening game of their playoff series.

From the onset, the Celtics asserted their dominance, jumping out to a commanding 14-0 lead early in the game and maintaining a double-digit advantage for most of the matchup.

Despite the absence of Miami’s star player, Jimmy Butler, who is sidelined with an MCL injury, the Heat struggled to mount a significant challenge against Boston’s relentless performance.

The Celtics showcased balanced scoring, with Jayson Tatum leading the charge with 23 points, supported by strong contributions from Derrick White (20 points), Kristaps Porzingis (18 points), and Jaylen Brown (17 points). Sam Hauser also made a notable impact, particularly with his four three-pointers during a crucial stretch in the second quarter.

Boston’s sharpshooting was a highlight of the game, as they tied a franchise record with 22 made three-pointers, showcasing their offensive firepower.

With the series opener firmly in their favor, the Celtics now hold a 1-0 lead over the Heat. As they look ahead to Game 2 on Wednesday night at TD Garden, Boston aims to maintain their momentum and extend their advantage in the series.
