The Milwaukee Bucks traded organization superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, 3 1st-round selections, 1 selection swap, and 1 2nd-round selection.
Miami is sending to Bucks unprotected 1st-rounders in 2031 and 2033, along with the 13th selection, a selection swap in 2030, and a 2033 2nd-rounder.
The exchange doesn’t feature any additional franchises – it is a 1-on-1 trade, but both Miami and Milwaukee will execute the deal on July 6th, which still gives both teams a chance to expand. Last year, the Suns and the Rockets agreed to an exchange that ultimately increased to a historic 7-franchise deal.
Miami’s championship odds went from 30-1 (9th shortest) yesterday to 18-1 (5th shortest) at the moment after the trade announcement.
Milwaukee is getting 4 basketballers in their twenties in the exchange. Tyler, who grew just outside his new team’s city, made the All-Star team last year and averaged almost 20 points per match over 7 campaigns with Miami. Hero appeared in just 33 matches in the past season after undergoing a procedure on his left foot at the beginning of autumn.
