The NY Knicks will raise their championship banner on the league’s opening night on October 20th, as they will play vs. LeBron James, who will make his debut for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Boston Celtics at Detroit Pistons open the tripleheader, while the other match will be between the OKC and the San Antonio Spurs.
The new-look Sixers, transformed by the offseason acquisitions of LeBron and Jaylen Brown, sustained a 4-0 sweep in the past campaign against the Knicks in the East Conference ½ finals. Meanwhile, San Antonio eliminated the Thunder in 7 matches in the West Conference finals.
Boston was eliminated in the 1st round in the past campaign, while Detroit reached the East Conference ½ finals.
A pair of doubleheaders on the opening week will feature Giannis Antetokounmpo making his debut with the Miami Heat vs. the Timberwolves on October 21st, while on the same day, the Warriors will face the Lakers.
The NBA also revealed its Christmas Day schedule, and without a doubt, the most interesting match will be between the 76ers and the Lakers as LeBron James will face his ex-team.
