The New York Knicks completed another comeback. And this time, that won them the championship!
For the 1st time in 53 years, the Knicks are at the top. Jalen Brunson notched 45 points, including 13 consecutive for the team from the Big Apple in the 4th quarter, and New York defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA finals.
New York won the matchup 4-1 as they won all of their 4 matches after being down double-digits. The Knick were down 16 points at one moment in Game 5, but found a way to triumph like they always did during the finals.
“I still can’t believe it,” NY Knicks manager Mike Brown, who was appointed 1 year ago, making him the 24th head coach in the organization’s history since the Knicks’ last title in 1973. “I still can’t believe that we won the championship.”
“I don’t know what my emotions are at the moment,” admitted Brunson, who was named Finals MVP. “Still can’t believe what happened. When everybody counted us out, we found a way to come back and triumph.”
Spurs superstar Wembanyama shared that this Finals defeat is the biggest lesson in his life.
