Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt revealed the organization would look at options beyond renovating Arrowhead Stadium as it looks for a home beyond the expiration of its lease after the 2030 campaign.
“We will discuss it from a broader perspective going forward because the time is not on our side, and so we must explore what other possibilities are out there for our team,” the Chiefs chairman shared. “When we began this process 3 years ago, we thought we had a very long time, a long runway with almost 10 years left on our lease. We’re now down to 6 and a half, so we must act in the near future.
“Arrowhead is a special stadium for me and for our supporters. That was 1 of the reasons that we tried everything to remain here, but in the future, it may make more sense for Chiefs to play at a new venue.”
