The London side tripped the Reds on their way for the title in 2014 as well

Liverpool’s hopes of clinching the Premier League title took a significant hit as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at Anfield.

The visitors struck early in the game, with Eberechi Eze converting Tyrick Mitchell’s cut-back to put Palace ahead. Despite Liverpool’s efforts to respond, their finishing let them down once again, similar to recent matches against Manchester United and Atalanta.

Jurgen Klopp’s side dominated possession in the second half but struggled to break down Palace’s defense. Wataru Endo came close to equalizing when his shot struck the bar, and Dean Henderson made a crucial save to deny Luis Diaz.

Palace remained dangerous on the counter-attack, with Jean-Philippe Mateta missing a chance to double their lead after a slip from Virgil van Dijk. However, Andy Robertson’s goal-line clearance kept Liverpool in the game.

Liverpool continued to push forward, but Henderson made another impressive save from Darwin Nunez, and Nathaniel Clyne blocked Diogo Jota’s close-range effort. Curtis Jones also missed a golden opportunity to score.

Despite their efforts, Liverpool couldn’t find an equalizer, with Mohamed Salah’s late effort blocked by Mitchell. The defeat leaves Liverpool two points behind leaders Manchester City and level on points with Arsenal.
