Dimitrov eliminates Jarry to reach Shanghai 1/2 finals

Grigor Dimitrov, world number 19, defeated 2-0, sets world number 22, Nicolas Jarry, and will play in the semifinal at the Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai. In his previous match, the Bulgarian shocked world number 2, Carlos Alcaraz, with a comeback victory at the ¼ finals after the Spaniard won the 1^st set but then lost the match to Dimitrov.

In the 1^st set, only Dimitrov had a single break chance, but Jarry saved it, and the set was decided after a tiebreak. Grigor led 5-1 points in the tiebreak and closed it 7-2 to triumph in the 1^st set.

One break was enough for the Bulgarian to win the 2^nd set as his opponent again didn’t have a single chance to break Grigor’s serve.
