The Magpies' boss is not thrilled about the prospect of building a new stadium

Eddie Howe shared his desire Newcastle United to remain at St. James Park.

The question was brought up after research among supporters was made as to whether they think the club should build a new stadium.

St. James has a capacity of 52,305 and his packed every single time. That has led to contemplation from senior figures for a potential new stadium as the current one is difficult to expand due to engineering obstacles.

“My ideal would be that we stay at St James’ Park. The stadium is iconic and where it’s situated in the city, there is nothing else like it. It’s the heartbeat of the city.” Howe said.

“It’s the thing you can see more than any other. Personally, I wouldn’t want to see that change. We would like a bigger stadium though, we’d like more people to be able to come and see us, so redevelopment would be my ideal.”

“That’s my opinion, without discussing it with anyone. It’s an unbelievable place to play football, so I wouldn’t want to lose that.”
