The 1st set was the most exciting one as it finished after a tiebreak.
Wawrinka was closer to winning it as he had 3 chances to break his opponent’s service, but Fritz saved all of them. The tennis player from the USA didn’t even have a break chance but won the tiebreak 12-10 points.
The things in the 2nd set were totally different as Taylor converted 2 break points from 5 and won 6-2 for 38 minutes.
The world number 10, Fritz, will face Jiri Lehecka next in the 1/8 finals in Monte Carlo on Friday. Lehecka, world number 42, eliminated Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets earlier today.
