The Sky Blues won their 1st Champions League trophy with a 1-0 victory against Inter in Istanbul, ending years of unsuccessful tries to win the tournament.
Media asked Pep about his club’s chances to defend the trophy ahead of their 1st match from the new season in the competition against Red Star Belgrade, and the Spaniard claimed that it would be much easier as the hardest thing is to triumph with your 1st one.
“Tomorrow is the first step. The most important thing will be to win the 3 points.”
Pep added that Jack Grealish, John Stones, and Mateo Kovacic will miss the Champions League opener as they didn’t play during the weekend when the Sky Blues defeated West Ham 3-1 in London.
