Erling Haaland returned to action after an injury and he opened the scoreline just before half time. He leaped to meet a beautiful cross and headed the ball into the net.
After almost an hour of play Grealish doubled City’s lead. He was at the right place in the box to get to a loose ball and fired it under the crossbar.
Just eight minutes later Grealish sent great pass to Haaland and the Norway star scored a stunning bicycle kick.
Mara got Southampton deficit down to two with a goal, but just three minutes later Julian Alvarez scored the fourth for the Citizens.
With their win City are now with 67 points – five less than leader Arsenal.
