Jack McCabe had a goal, and Joseph Woll stopped 28 shots to help the Maple Leafs cut Bruins’ lead in the matchup to 3-2. Game 6 will be played on Tuesday in Canada.
Ilya Lyubushkin, Max Domi, and Mitch Marner had assists for the Canadian NHL franchise, who outshouted Boston 33-28.
Trent Frederic notched for the home team. Jeremy Swayman stopped 31 shots.
Toronto competed without star Auston Matthews, who missed the match with an unspecified illness after being only for a few minutes in Toronto’s morning skate today.
Matthews had a league-leading 69 goals in the regular campaign and scored the triumphing goal in Game 2 but had only 4 shots combined in the Maple Leafs’ defeats in the previous 2 matches from the series.
