Leverkusen beat Roma 2-0 at Olimpico in UEL 1/2 final 1st leg

Bayer Leverkusen defeated AS Roma 2-0 at Stadio Olimpico and made a crucial 1^st step to advance to the final of the Europa League as the 2^nd leg will be in Germany.

The Wolves had the 1^st golden opportunity to score, but Romelu Lukaku’s header in the 21^st minute hit the bar.  Only 2 minutes later, the away club also had a fantastic chance to score, but Jeremie Frimpong missed it.

However, Leverkusen received a gift in the 28^th minute when Rick Karsdorp returned the ball to the goalkeeper very badly and ended with Florian Wirtz scoring from a close range to give the lead to the German team.

Jeremie Frimpong missed another opportunity to score in the 34^th minute.

Bryan Cristante had the chance to tie the result in the 56^th minute, but his header was very bad despite the Wolves midfielder being unmarked in the box and didn’t score.

Bayer doubled its lead at Olimpico in the 73^rd minute after Robert Andrich fantastic shot from outside the penalty area as the ball ended into the top left corner of Svilar.

Tammy Abraham needed to score in the extra time to give his team better chance in the 2nd leg but his header went over the crossbar.
