Man City have revealed that they have lodged an appeal after an independent commission found them guilty of all charges relating to breaches of the EPL’s financial regulations.
The team from Etihad wrote that the commission’s ruling contained “clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe”.
FA shared today that the verdict against the Sky Blues has “significant implications for the integrity of football”.
The football governing body in England added that they will not comment further until things are resolved between them and Manchester City.
Manchester City will claim that crucial sponsorship deals were funded by the Abu Dhabi government, rather than the side’s owners, as part of the appeal.
The EPL claimed that the Sky Blues “systematically broke its rules for over 10 years”.
The rules state that the appeal must be heard within 3 months, and a decision must be made within a month of that.
