Man City continued their charge towards the EPL title with a win at Turf Moor to move the Sky Blues to the 1st place in the league and relegate Burnley.
Pep Guardiola’s team has hit form at the right moment and was able to cut 9 points off the Gunners’ lead in 14 days, and now are at the top of the table with a better goal difference.
Man City have not been the leader since the opening week of the season, but an 11-match unbeaten series has led them to the top position with 5 matches until the end of the campaign.
The only goal in the match was scored by Erling Haaland after only 5 minutes. The assist for the winning goal provided by Jeremy Doku, the Norwegian top scorer, had another great chance to score in the 2nd half, but struck the post.
The Sky Blues had a lot of opportunities, but failed to score another goal as the goal difference could be the key to who will win the Premier League at the end of the season, while Burnley’s defeat means that they were relegated for the 2nd time in 3 years to the Championship.
