Orlando stunned Detroit and took the 1st match in the series.

Paolo Banchero finished with 23 points, 9 boards, and 4 assists to lead the 8th-seeded Orlando Magic to a 112-101 victory against the top-seeded Detroit Pistons in Game 1 of their 1st-round matchup, extending the longest home postseason losing streak in league history.

The Pistons have dropped 11 consecutive home matches in the playoffs, a drought that dates in the past 18 years.

Detroit will have another opportunity vs. the Magic on Wednesday to tie the series.

Pistons’ Cade Cunningham notched a postseason career-high 39 points, and Tobias Harris scored 17 points for the top-seeded team in the East, but the rest of the players were limited on offense for Detroit.

Detroit hasn’t advanced beyond the 1st round in the playoffs for almost 20 years, while Orlando hasn’t since 2010.

The team from Florida, coming off a rout of the Hornets in a play-in match at the end of the past week, led 18-5 midway in the 1st quarter after holding the top-seeded organization in the Eastern Conference to a 1-of-6 shooting with 4 turnovers in their 1st match in 7 days and things look very interesting before Game 2 as Orlando has the chance to travel back home with even 2 wins in Detroit.
