Cleveland eliminated Detroit after 7-match series.

Donovan Mitchell finished with 26 points, Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill each scored 23, and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons 125-94 in Game 7 to reach the East Conference finals.

The 4th-seeded Cavs eliminated the top-seeded in the Eastern Conference and will play against the 3rd-seeded NY Knicks. Game 1 from the matchup is on Tuesday in the Big Apple.

Evan Mobley finished with 21 points and 12 boards for Cleveland, who reached the Eastern Conference final for the 1st time since 2018 and the 9th time in organization history. It’s their deepest run since LeBron James’ final campaign with the organization.

It will also be Donovan’s 1st appearance in conference finals in 9 playoffs.

Daniss Jenkins notched 17, while Cade Cunningham and Duncan Robinson each scored 13 for Detroit, who fell 1 victory shy of their 1st conference finals appearance since 2008 after securing Game 7 after victory in Game 6 at the end of the past week.

Cleveland was the better team on the court from the beginning of the match, and they allowed Detroit to gain momentum, and everything was decided in the 3rd quarter, when Donovan notched 15 points.
