Mancini enjoys first victory since return as Italy head coach

Roberto Mancini secured his 1^st victory after his return as Italy boss as they defeated Turkey in the Nations League.

The Italian manager was hired for a 2^nd time in August after the departure of Gennaro Gattuso during the spring, when the Azzurri failed to qualify for a 3^rd straight World Cup.

Roberto previously managed his nation from 2018 until 2023 and won Euro 2020 after defeating England in the final at Wembley after a shootout.

Mancini suffered disappointment in his 1^st match on his return with a home defeat against Belgium at the end of last week, as that brought back the bad memories from the recent failure of the Azzurri to qualify for the World Cup in North America this summer.

But today things look a lot better, as Italy had a 3-goal lead at halftime.

The Bees defender Michael Kayode scored on his international debut, scoring the 3^rd goal after running onto Pio Esposito’s pass.

Italy beat Turkey 4-1 in Bursa and now sit 3rd in the group behind France and Belgium.
