Kylian Mbappe sent a heartfelt message to the legend Cristiano Ronaldo after copying his idol’s iconic celebration after his landmark goal in Los Blancos’ 2-0 victory against Sevilla. The French superstar had a birthday to remember as he scored to help Real Madrid move only 1 point behind leader Barca as the Catalan side plays later today.

Kylian celebrated his 27th birthday as he netted from a penalty to lead Xabi Alonso’s side to a win vs. Sevilla, who finished the match with 10 players at Bernabeu.

After the triumph, Mbappe shared: “It is phenomenal in my 1st full season to be able to do what Ronaldo did.

“Cristiano is my idol, the best footballer in Los Blancos’ history. The celebration is for Ronaldo. I wanted to give him a shout-out because Cristiano always supported me and helped me adapt to Real, and now it is incredible to help the Royal club win matches.

“It is an amazing day, because I’m also celebrating my birthday. I had always shared that I love to play football even on my birthdays, and to do so for my favorite team and to score is an amazing feeling.”
