La Roja won their 2nd World Cup title in their history.

Spain is the new World Cup champion after beating Argentina 1-0 at MetLife Stadium, as La Roja dominated and deserved to win the title, but didn’t it very hard after extra time and scored when the opponent was left with 10 players on the pitch.

Spain was the better team since the beginning of the match, but in the 1st half La Roja didn’t have any huge chance to score, while Argentina finished the half without even a shot.

Unfortunately for the defending World Cup champions, they continue to be unable to make any attack that can finish with a chance for them to score, while Spain dominated and missed a few huge opportunities to score as Emiliano Martinez made some great saves to keep the result 0-0.

The most important thing in the final came near the end of the regular time when Enzo Fernandez received a 2nd yellow card and was sent off.

La Roja took even greater control of the match, but needed to wait until the 106th minute when Ferran Torres scored the winning goal after an assist from Nico Williams as both players entered the pitch in the 2nd half.

In the last minutes of the extra time, Argentina had 2 chances to tie the result even with 10 men on the pitch and force penalties, but they missed them, and Spain is the new World Cup champion after a victory against the defending one in what is most certainly Leo Messi’s last match at the biggest international tournament in the world.
