The 42-year-old Canadian will have his name next to the greats like Wayne Gretzky

Living mixed martial arts legend Georges St-Pierre will be lined up alongside the greats like Wayne Gretzky in Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

The 42-year-old Canadian will be officially inducted into the elite list of athletes on October 19 at a ceremony in Ontario, reports mmafighting.com. The event will be broadcast live on the UFC YouTube channel.

“I am honored to be part of the Sports Hall of Fame. Martial arts changed my life. I’m lucky to have represented Canada on the biggest fight stage in the world,” GSP told the UFC.

In just two months, the retired MMA fighter will return to professional sports. He will have a grappling match on December 14th. This will be the first fight for the former UFC hegemon since 2017. In his last fight in the cage, GS PI stopped Michael Bisping and captured the middleweight title. St. Pierre is also part of the UFC Hall of Fame. In 2020, he was inducted into the “Modern Wing” list of the circuit’s greatest fighters of all time.
