The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 6-3 in their first game on home soil in 2023-24 on Sunday night.
The star of the show was without a doubt Frank Vatrano, whose brilliant hat-trick inspired his team to victory.

“It was awesome. Obviously it’s great to get a hat trick but it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win the game,” said Vatrano after the game. “From top to bottom tonight, goaltending, defense, a lot of milestones tonight as well.”
The Ducks had a flying start as they were 3-0 up with less than 13 minutes played. Cam Fowler had a goal and an assist, while Sam Carrick one of his own.
Ryan Strome and Mason McTavish each had two assists, while Lukas Dostal stopped 32 shots.
Teuvo Teravainen scored twice for Carolina with Martin Necas adding another one.
Anaheim face Dallas at home on Thursday night, while the Hurricanes visit San Jose on Tuesday night.
