Barcelona supporters have initiated a donation campaign to fund the transfer of Spain’s winger Nico Williams, according to a report by Reuters. The goal is to pair the 22-year-old Athletic Bilbao forward with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, following their impressive performance in leading Spain to victory in Euro 2024 this summer.

Williams, who scored in the final against England, is valued at around 70 million euros but has a release clause in his contract with the Basque club set at 58 million euros, as reported by Reuters.
Fans have taken to TikTok to express their support for the campaign with comments such as “Sign Nico,” “We 100% need Nico,” and “For Nico Williams.” Despite their enthusiasm, the donations are unlikely to meet the required amount due to TikTok’s transaction fees.
Barcelona, who finished second in LaLiga last season and were eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals, has yet to secure any incoming transfers for the upcoming season. The campaign, although well-intentioned, faces significant financial challenges in achieving its goal.
