The Bulgarian was defeated by Sinner in straight sets, denying him of his second title this season

Bulgaria’s top-ranked tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, who put on a commendable performance in the high-stakes final of the Miami Open, spoke following his 3-6, 1-6 defeat to Jannik Sinner. Grigor admitted feeling like a winner despite his loss in the final, citing the challenges of playing in Miami.

“Jannik, congratulations to you and your team. It’s been an incredible start to the year. Incredible tennis. Congratulations to Jannik Sinner. Today, there was no way to oppose him, but I want to cherish this moment because this tournament has been tough for me over the years, but finally, I did well,” Grigor Dimitrov stated right after the game.

“Here we are again another year. Although I’m not the winner, today I feel like I won the match because of the support from the crowd. It’s been a long two weeks, but I’m grateful. We are also winners today, me and my team, and I hope next year we can take the next step,” he added.
