76ers will have their leader back for the final battles for the sixth spot in the East

The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player, Joel Embiid, is set to return to action this week, according to reports.

The Philadelphia 76ers’ center is likely to be back on the court for the home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. According to The Athletic, the 30-year-old basketball player has had successful full-team training sessions in recent days and has been cleared to participate in games.

Embiid last played on January 30, when he injured his left knee meniscus during a road game against the Golden State Warriors. Before the injury, the Cameroon-born basketball player led the entire league in scoring with an average of 35.3 points per game.

With seven games remaining in the season, Philadelphia continues to battle with the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat for the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference. Currently, the Pacers hold the sixth spot with a record of 42 wins and 33 losses. Miami is in seventh place with 41 wins and 33 losses, while the Sixers have 40 wins and 35 losses.
