Giants won’t use franchise tag on Saquon

The NY Giants are not placing the franchise tag on RB Saquon Barkley.

That means that the star running back could become an unrestricted free agent for the 1^st time in his career.

A 2^nd straight tag for Saquon would cost over 12 million dollars. The player shared in the past that he doesn’t want to be tagged.

The running back (27) appeared in the past campaign on an adjusted franchise tag that netted him 10.1 million dollars after the 2 parties failed to reach an agreement on a long-term contract.

Saquon claimed that he wants to spend his career with the Giants but refused to ink a deal in the past campaign that would have guaranteed him 23 million dollars.
