Mbappé demands the Ballon d’Or again

Los Blancos forward Kylian Mbappé claims he feels no “frustration” at not yet having won the Ballon d’Or, and the French star reckons “it could be a good year for me”.

Kylian didn’t win any titles in the past campaign, a factor that weighs heavily in the voting. Mbappe also finished 4^th in the World Cup and didn’t lift any trophy with the Royal club.

“Our game is a team sport, and that’s why there are team awards to represent that collective dominance,” Mbappe shared.

“When we discuss Ballon d’Or, we give it to a single player, that is, to the best footballer, and the person who played the best, and every major tournament shows something.”

Barca’s Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane will be Kylian’s biggest competitors for the award. Leo Messi is also in fans’ discussions for the 9^th Ballon d’Or because of his run with Argentina at the World Cup, but that scenario is not realistic.
