The Magpies signed the player from Leicester.

Newcastle United have added the attacking midfielder Harvey Barnes from Leicester City to their squad as the player signed a 5-campaign deal.

The Magpies paid 50 million dollars to the Foxes for Barnes, who is part of the England international squad.

“It’s a fantastic team, and for me, it’s an amazing opportunity to come and be involved in a successful side with very high ambitions,” Harvey shared after the news about his transfer.

“I think it’s an attacker’s dream to play in a team like this; it’s high-paced, it’s physically demanding, but that gives you amazing opportunities in the opponent’s half, and we can score many goals, so I think I will fit perfectly in Newcastle and this style of play.”

Barnes came from the Foxes’ academy and was 1 of the few great players for Leicester in the past campaign, but he wasn’t enough for the team to avoid relegation to the Championship despite scoring 13 goals.
