The NFL will launch an investigation as to why the Cincinnati Bengals failed to list Joe Burrow on the injury reports before Thursday’s game against Baltimore, reports say.
It would proved to be a fatal decision as Burrow sustained a wrist injury that will keep him out until the end of the season.
Burrow himself stated that he is wearing a compression sleeve for reasons not related to his injury.
“This is a completely different thing,” he said. “It’s not uncommon for guys to wear compression sleeves on planes because when you go up to that altitude, you know, things can swell up. In football, you have a lot of bumps and bruises. This is a completely new injury.”
Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor denied rumors that Burrow had fitness issues prior to the injury and that he has been practicing all week to his full potential.
“Guys wear different compression things on the plane all the time,” Taylor said. “I haven’t made it a point to ask them all about it every time they do it.”
