Ancelotti backs Estevao despite Chelsea bench role

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti sent a direct message to the Blues regarding young talent Estevao ahead of their international friendly vs. Australia next. The Italian head coach claimed he will pick the striker regardless of how much he plays for Chelsea.

Carlo revealed Estevao remains central to Selecao’s long-term World Cup project and that he will give him minutes on the pitch to build his development and chemistry with the national team.

“Sometimes the club and the national team interests differ,” Carlo started. “For us, Estevao, along with young footballers, is crucial. Even if he is not a first choice at his club. I will select him again, because I know he is very important for the future, and we will give him the chance to improve the Brazilian national team.”

Ancelotti even revealed his starting lineup for the upcoming game against Australia during his press conference. Raphinha, Vinicius Junior, Endrick, and Estevao will start in attack for Selecao. Carlo praised Raphinha’s form in Barcelona, while also sharing that he trusts Vinicius Jr. completely.
