Neymar suffered a fresh problem with Santos just several days after being named in the Brazilian squad for the upcoming World Cup in North America.
The Selecao star was diagnosed with a calf injury, and questions right now are if he will be healthy to be available to play at the 2026 World Championship.
His team announced that the Brazilian forward is having a minor calf problem after medical tests revealed the injury. It’s very unfortunate news for Neymar, who was only recently named back to the Brazilian national team after the striker was out of the pitch for over a year after a serious knee problem he sustained in 2023.
Neymar has not played in Santos’ Copa Sudamericana match vs. San Lorenzo and almost certainly will not be on the pitch in the upcoming game in the Brazilian Serie A against Gremio.
The former Brazilian superstar must report for Selecao on May 27th if he wants to play at the World Cup, and now he is fighting against time to be healthy to join the national team.
