Manchester United announced that Michael Carrick will be their next permanent manager on a 2-year deal.
He took over as an interim boss at the beginning of 2026 when Amorim was dismissed and secured the Red Devils’ place in the UCL next season after winning a lot of points. The club from Old Trafford will finish 3rd after the past weekend’s victory against Nottingham.
Carrick has triumphed in 11 of his 16 games at the helm, and no top-flight team has won more points than the 36 Red Devils have got since Michael’s hiring on January 13th.
“From the moment I became a Man United footballer 20 years ago, I felt the magic of the Red Devils. I’m incredibly happy that I was chosen to lead this incredible football club,” Michael shared.
Carrick added that it’s time to look forward together and that he wants to bring Manchester United to the top where it belongs.
