Edwards notches 33 to lead Wolves to 120-95 win vs. Suns in Game 1

Anthony Edwards notched 18 of his 33 points in the 3^rd quarter and had 9 boards to help the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns 120-95 at Target Center in Minneapolis, MN, to begin the 1^st round of the postseason.

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 19 points, Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 18 points, and Rudy Gobert had 14 points and 16 boards to secure Minnesota’s 1^st Game 1 victory in the postseason in 20 years.

Kevin Durant notched 31 points on 11-for-17 shooting to lead Phoenix, whose disadvantages in depth and size were visible tonight. Devin Booker scored 18 points, and Bradley Beal scored 15 points, but Phoenix was outrebounded 52-28 and outscored 52-34 in the paint by Minnesota.

Anthony led a 19-4 run to close the 3^rd quarter as he stared at Kevin, who only smiled at the young Timberwolves star. The Wolves had sellouts for every match at Target Center this campaign for the 1^st time since they moved into the venue 34 years ago.
