Timberwolves added 1 year to Jaden's contract.

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Defensive forward Jaden McDaniels has agreed to an additional year worth 40 million dollar that will keep him under deal through the 2029-30 campaign.

The contract will allow the forward to negotiate another extension in 2 years, starting at a salary of up to 140% of his 40 million dollar. McDaniels could also choose to enter free agency in 2030.

Jaden inked a 5-year, 136 million dollar contract 3 years ago. With the extension, the Timberwolves have 124 million dollars committed to him over the next 4 seasons.

He is coming off a career year last campaign as he averaged almost 15 points on 51.5% shooting (41% from 3), all of which were career highs, along with over 4 boards, almost 3 assists, and at least 1 steal and 1 block per match. McDaniels played even better during the postseason, where he upped his scoring to over 16 points, as his best performance was the 32 points Jaden notched against the Nuggets in Game 6 in the 1st round, helping his team advance to the 2nd round.

Jaden was selected 28th overall by Minnesota in the 2020 NBA Draft.
