After the Minnesota Timberwolves shockingly won the 1st game of the matchup of the West Conference ½ final at the beginning of the week, San Antonio Spurs stars Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox talked in the locker room, and now they also talked on the court.
San Antonio routed Minnesota by 38 points in Game 2 to tie the series at 1 before the next 2 games, which will be hosted by the Wolves.
“Our conversation was that the team is in a good place,” De’Aaron shared after the triumph in Game 2. “We played awful in Game 1, and they beat us only by 2 points.”
Wemby and Fox rebounded from the bad Game 1 to lead the Spurs today to their highest-scoring postseason match since 1983. After combining for only 21 points in the opening clash of the series, they now helped the team, and San Antonio even had a 47-point lead at one point of the game.
Victor ended the game with 19 points and 15 boards, while also securing 2 blocks, marking his 4th straight double-double with 2 blocks or more, and he hopes that his series will continue in Minnesota.
