The Norway international is among the favorites for this year’s award after netting 52 goals in 53 matches in the past campaign as he won a treble with Manchester City – the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League.
“I think that I can win the award,” Erling told France Football. “I know I can become a better player because I’m still young. But yes, I have a great chance to take home the Ballon d’Or this year.”
His biggest competition will be Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, as the Argentinian superstar won the World Cup in Qatar during the past season.
Haaland added that he dreams of achieving great things with Norway but admitted that they are a small country with less than 6 million population, and the task would be very tough. Erling said he dreams of playing in a Euro or a World Cup.
