The Europeans were shacking until the end as the US threatened a historical comeback

Europe come out on top against the US 16 1/2 – 11 1/2 to lift the Ryder Cup at the Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome on Sunday.

Luke Donald’s team were the dominant team as they dictated the pace all around and got his own back for their heavy 2021 defeat at the Whistling Straits.

Europe had established a significant lead on day one and they only needed 4 points from the final session.

Tommy Fleetwood wrapped it up as he gave them the much needed half a point against Rickie Fowler, who conceded on the 16th to give the home team victory.

Rory Mcllroy was sublime on Sunday after heated feud with Patrick Cantlay’s caddie the previous day. The Irishman demolished Sam Burns with 3 and 1 win.

Jon Rahm kick-started Sunday’s surge to the title as he took an early lead against Scottie Scheffler before being pegged back in a hard-fought contest.

Scheffler missed a match winning putt on the 17th as the ball squirreled just wide of the drop and allowing Rahm a chance to recover on the final hole.
